MATHRU BHASHA DIWAS 2017-18

 

International Mother Language Day (IMLD) is a worldwide annual observance held on the 21st of February to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity to promote multilingualism. Languages are the most powerful instruments of preserving and developing our tangible and intangible heritage. All moves to promote the dissemination of mother tongue will serve not only to encourage linguistic diversity and multilingual education but also to develop further awareness of linguistic and culture tradition throughout the world to inspire solidarity based on understanding tolerance and dialogue.

      Mathru Bhasha Diwas was celebrated in our school premises on 21.2.18. Children enthusiastically took part in it. All language teachers supported our children to bring out the talents in them. In addition to the celebration Mrs. Anitha, department of English, trained class I children with Baduga dance & speech. Hanuman chalisa was recited in Sanskrit by Master.Venu Krishna of class I. Children of class I recited a poem in Tamil. Importance of mother tongue was explained by students of class IV in Tamil. They also performed the welcome dance in Malayalam and recited a poem of Kunjjunni master, a famous poet, who has written many poems to motivate children. Ahana and Suhana, from IV grade students given speech in Bhojpuri.  

Students from III grade enacted a story of Thenali Ram and Viduwavan  ki mathru bhsha  in  Hindi. The message of   drama was to “Respect our mother tongue”. Children of grade III recited Sanskrit slokas. Students of class IV gave speech in Telugu & Gujarathi. Children of primary classes (I-IV)   participated enthusiastically in Mathur bhasha diwas celebration and made it memorable. Children took the privilege to speak in their mother Language.
