Library day was celebrated on 7 th November and the period from 1 st October to 7 th November 2022
was observed as Library month.
Drop Everything And Read (DEAR):
The rule for the day was to carry your own reading material during school hours i.e. (8:30
a.m. to 3.20 p.m.). When the bell rang three times everyone was expected to drop everything and
read. Then again, when the bell rang three times the entire school resumed back to their routine
schedule. The reading time was for 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the afternoon.
At the stroke of the three bells in the morning and afternoon, the entire campus went silent. It was
an amazing silence!!! A full 40 minutes of happy reading time was allotted. The Principal,
students, staff and everyone present in the premises at that time read. What a joy was it to find
everyone in the campus perching themselves wherever they were and reading!
The following activities were conducted in all the classes based on the story books read by the
students, from the Library as part of Library month.

Author Illustrator Pair:
Students from class VI to IX & XI were asked to form groups of three to be author,
illustrator and reviewer. The task was to conceive, create, write and illustrate their own story in
their own preferred style. They were expected to present their work colourfully. The reviewer
had to review the book before submission. They were given parameters to review the books.
The best books “author-illustrator-reviewer” will be published and kept in the library for the
students to access and read.
